Mumps is an acute infectious disease caused by a Virus -Para Myxo viruses .Generally Viral infections causes changes in the host cell cytolysis and destructions of the cells . Hear , Parotids glands are affected and other parts such as Sub-mandibular glands , Testicles , Brain ,Pancreas ,Ovary and Central Nervous Systems may be affected .The Virus enters through Respiratory tract and spreads by droplet .The affected parts hyperaemic and oedematous with pain -usually young adults and children's are more caught up by Mumps .
